Former First Lady Laura Bush to participate in TSLAC Literary Landmark Ceremony

New statewide interlibrary loan system to provide better sharing of library materials
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission, assisted by its Interlibrary
Loan Task Force, has selected a new statewide interlibrary loan system,
improving service to library customers in more than 500 Texas public libraries.
TSLAC has selected the WorldCat/Navigator platform from the Online Computer
Library Center (OCLC) to be the basis for interlibrary loan in Texas public

TSLAC, DIR host E-Records conference
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) and the Department
of Information Resources (DIR) will host the E-Records
2009 conference, for state government officials involved in the management
of electronic records on Friday, November 6, at 8 a.m. The conference

Reference, Archives and Genealogy moves
to first floor
The Texas State Archives and Reference
and Information Center of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission
have moved from Room 300 on the third floor, and are now operating in
newly renovated first floor locations in the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives
and Library Building. The Texas Family Heritage Research Center (Genealogy)
is operating temporarily out of the Reference and Information Center on
the first floor until its second floor permanent location is operational
in early 2010. Other TSLAC operations such as Human Resources and the
Executive Offices have relocated to the second floor.....Read

Renovation causes temporary change to
services
Renovation of the historic Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library
Building is underway. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission
will remain open for business during the renovation, but some services
and collections have changed and will be limited during this period. We
appreciate your patience during the renovation, which is expected to be
